Welcome to Waterdeep, the Crown of the North, where a wondrous tale of urban adventure is about to unfold. The City of Splendors has most anything an adventurer could want and supports different styles of play, so come join the fun and become a hero or rogue of renown in this magical metropolis.
Waterdeep: Dragon Heist is a D&D adventure designed for characters from 1st - 5th level. The campaign features treasure hunting, intrigue, and many influential factions with personalized missions. There are all sorts of people that call this city home, so any race will be accepted or at least tolerated by its citizens (remember the PHB+1 rule applies). This will be an Adventurers League game, so please consult the Adventurers League forum post to ensure you have a legal character for this game.
If you have the Faction Agent background you will need to choose one of the factions present in Waterdeep. If you are hoping to join a faction with a different background, fear not, there will be an option to join one during play. When you join a faction this way, you retain all the gear and skills from your background and replace your background feature with Safe Haven (from the Faction Agent background).
The following factions are available to choose from:
Emerald Enclave (any character that demonstrates interest in protecting nature)
Harpers (any non-evil, intelligent character)
Lord's Alliance (any Waterdavian citizen that demonstrates allegiance to Waterdeep)
Order of the Gauntlet (any non-evil character)
Zhentarim (no restrictions)
Bregan D'aerthe (any drow, preferably male. Must be invited through play.)
Force Gray (anyone who has served in the City Watch or the City Guard is eligible to join the Gray Hands, as are characters who are willing to swear oaths to defend Waterdeep with their lives. Must be invited through play.)
Xanathar Guild (no restrictions. Before membership is granted, however, an applicant must pass a test that always involves the perpetration of a serious crime. Must be invited through play.)
